Accommodation Near the Viking Way
One of our greatest advantages is being close to the Viking Way which is one of England’s premier long-distance footpaths. It stretches 147 miles from the Humber Bridge to Oakham in Rutland. This historic route passes close to our farmhouse and gives you immediate access to some of the most wonderful walking routes in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The Viking Way showcases the very best of our local landscape – ancient drove roads, historic churches, traditional villages and panoramic viewpoints that stretch for miles across the countryside. Whether you’re planning to tackle substantial sections of this famous route or simply want to experience it through a shorter walk, our location provides great convenience.
From our door, you can join the Viking Way for morning walks before returning for a hearty breakfast, or pack a picnic and spend the entire day exploring different sections of this remarkable trail. The well-maintained path allow you to explore the area throughout the year.
Cycling in Outstanding Natural Beauty
The quiet country lanes of the local area creates the perfect conditions for cycling holidays. Our network of minor roads sees little traffic, allowing cyclists to enjoy rides through some of England’s most wonderful countryside. The terrain provides just enough challenge to make rides satisfying without being overwhelming, whilst the regular market towns and villages offer the perfect place to stop and have a refreshment.
Cycling holidays based at The Grange can be tailored to any level of experience or ambition. There are gentle routes that are suitable for families which takes you through villages like Tealby and Market Rasen, whilst more ambitious cyclists can tackle the challenging climbs around the Wolds’ highest points. The historic city of Lincoln makes an excellent cycling destination and the cathedral and castle are worth a visit during your stay.
Many of our guests combine cycling with our other activities like trout fishing in our lake or taking a relaxing walk around our farm trail.

Explore the Lincolnshire Wolds from Your Doorstep
Beyond the famous Viking Way, the Lincolnshire Wolds are crisscrossed with public footpaths, bridleways and quiet lanes that create great opportunities for walking. There are circular routes of varying lengths that can be enjoyed directly from our farm which will take you through woodlands, across flower-filled fields and past traditional dry stone walls that have defined this landscape for centuries.
